Asking great, appropriate questions during a college visit identifies your student as a thinker. That's a good thing, a way to be set apart from the wandering masses trampling across the campus during those tours and information sessions.
Asking questions that go beyond the obvious will also help you and your student sort out what the schools you are looking at truly have to offer.
