The Making It
Count Student Advisory Council was created in September of 2005. Making It
Count was seeking a way to connect with its vital audience - students. The
Student Advisory Council's purpose is to provide us with feedback from the
student perspective that will help us become the most effective resource for
students possible.
The Student Advisory Council is comprised of carefully chosen students from the high schools of our Educator Advisory Board. Student Advisory Council groups are located throughout the country representing a diverse group of schools and students.
Making It Count keeps in contact with the Student Advisory Council through telephone and email communications, receiving feedback on topics such as presentation content, promotional pieces, websites and student newsletters. Selected Making It Count Student Advisory Council members represent their high schools and students all across the nation at an annual National Meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio. Students at these sessions receive experience in corporate boardroom presentations, public speaking and other career/networking skills and strategies as well as providing Making It Count with feedback on its programs and websites from a student perspective.
